We are very pleased to welcome Sue Winn as our speaker.

Sue Winn, teacher and former school administrator with the Lester B. Pearson School Board, has been involved in the work of the Anglican Church of Canada, nationally and locally for over 20 years. In 1992 she attended a Worldwide Anglican Encounter inSalvador,Brazil, an experience that was life-changing. From that time Sue has been passionate about the need for Christian response to social and justice issues.

Sue has served on Eco-justice and Partners in Mission Committees at the national level of the church, and on Mission Outreach Committees in the Diocese of Montreal. She has valued her friendships with indigenous partners, visitingKingfisherLakein northernOntarioand Inukjuak in northernQuebecto represent partnership with the national Anglican Church. InMontreal, Sue has been a member of the Board of Action Refugies Montreal, and was actively involved in sponsorship in 2010-2011 of a family from Iran.

Sue is married, has three married children and seven grandchildren. As a Lay Reader Sue enjoys preaching and teaching inMontrealarea churches, Fulford Residence and in her home church,St. George’sin Ste. Anne de Bellevue.

Our Chaplain

Rev. Eileen Steele, is the incumbent of an old historic church on the Chambly Basin, filled with some very young families and young in heart, who all love to play and worship together.

Eileen was ordained in 2006 and worked professionally in the military for 15 years. She began her career as a medical assistant and then discovered her passion for teaching. She became a physical education and recreation instructor. That’s a long title but it actually meant that Eileen got to play and teach sports all day!

Eileen sees the Church as a place of joy and peace and healing. She truly believes that Jesus heals today, and as a chaplain in the Order of St. Luke the Physician Healing Ministry, Eileen sees our hurting world through eyes of hope, and recognizes that all people are in need of God’s love in their lives.

At the end of each service Eileen calls on her congregation to spread the Good News as she says, “The service has ended, but your work has just begun. Go in peace to love and serve the Lord.”

Eileen is looking forward to her role as Chaplain for this year’s AWARE weekend.

 Our Worship Leader

Lynda-Jean Coffin will lead our worship and music at this year’s AWARE retreat.

She has adjudicated at music festivals, led music at the Montreal-Ottawa Conference of the United Church of Canada, as well as led workshops on a variety of musical topics for groups large and small.

For the past 10 years she has supplied as an organist at various churches in the Montreal area and beyond.  Her husband, Lloyd, is welcomed to the bass section of those choirs.  They have 2 grown children, on in Richmond, BC, and the other in Fredericton , NB, as well as two delightful grandsons.

Singing praises to God brings her great joy and she looks forward to sharing with you at the AWARE retreat in September 2012.
